How They Work
Working Groups facilitate continuous cooperation among specialists addressing key challenges and opportunities in operating deposit return systems. By combining operational expertise, legislative insight, and technological innovation, they play a central role in shaping the future of European DRS.
Their work enhances EDRSA’s ability to anticipate emerging issues, contribute to policy discussions, and support members in improving their national systems.
Structure and Governance
Working Group members are nominated by their organization’s CEO and coordinated by designated team leaders. Groups meet regularly to share insights, benchmark solutions, and advance best practices in their specialized areas.
The Communication Working Group brings together marketing teams from European DRS operators to exchange campaign insights, share best practices, and inspire innovative approaches to public engagement.
The Finance Working Group brings together financial experts from European DRS operators to share budgeting strategies, financial planning approaches, and best practices for sustainable system operations.
The Fraud Working Group brings together security and operations experts from European DRS operators to exchange proven methods for preventing, detecting, and responding to fraud that threatens DRS integrity.
The Legal Working Group brings together legal experts from European DRS operators to monitor EU and national legislation, identify regulatory impacts on operations, and develop common positions to inform policy development.
The Information Technology and Change Management Working Group brings together IT professionals from European DRS operators to share technology solutions, collaborate on common challenges, and address emerging operational needs through innovation.
